If there is a God in Heavan, and there IS justice for Shanda, Laurie Tackett's child will be raped and murdered. Only then will this piece of garbage truly know what she did. And, even then, this demon wouldn't even care. The Murderers should have received the DEATH PENALTY,. Even the goofy looking one that snitched on the others. R.I.P. Shanda sweetheart. You are an angel now.

i have read the case and what these girls did in 1992 I cannot imagine the greif of this poor girls parents and i hope these women now have to live with what their 16 yr old counterparts did for the rest of their lives because they took that oppertunity away from this girl to become a woman. my heat goes out to her parents i was a victim of bullying when i was in highschool these women should be ashamed they should feel bad abd have no relief from it . no amount of im sorry can make it better my dearest condolences to shandas family and friends

They will never go away!! They are scum of the earth!

Its people like these girls that we could do without in our world. They have no respect for another life so why should we respect theirs?!

Steve, let me clarify something for you. I also have a question for you and you probably answered it already, but I will ask again.

I choose to forgive these girls because it makes me a better person than they are. I choose to do it because that is what God wants me to do. If you do not want to believe in God then that is your perogative.

When one hates these girls or does not forgive them then it does nothing. They will still sass at you and laugh at you. I forgive them because it makes me a better person. I am not doing it to be buddy buddy with them. If you forgive them then they go away. If you do not forgive them then they will always laugh at you and it will never go away.

I would rather pay to have the prisoner have medical care, food, three hots and a cot and other anemities instead of being executed. The redneck attitude you have and that was the question I had for you is that you think that people should be executed or not have any rights and that is wrong. Prisoners deserve rights. They do not need to be treated like animals. Just because they are in prison does not mean that they need to be treated like animals.

There was also a Newsweek article about a person who executed someone and then felt bad about it later. I think it was from a couple of weeks ago, Steve. You might be able to find the article online somewhere.

I'm not interested in that article......period.

I don't know where you get your information from, but executing someone quickly does NOT cost more than feeding, sheltering, clothing, giving medical care to these people for the rest of their lives. Tell that BS to someone who has no intelligence, Brandon and they might believe you. The death penalty is not state sanctioned mass murder, it is capital punishment for crimes against humanity. Why should the state execute an offender to show that murder is wrong?.....To keep the SOB from ever doing it again that's why. Give me one example of any executioner that has had psychological problems from performing executions. They are not forced to do it....they either volunteer or are appointed by an official because they have a sound mind.......Brandon, you really are grasping for straws.........but I'll give you some comfort......if by any chance you ever flip out and murder someone in cold blood.....I'll volunteer to execute you by state law...and then go home and sleep like a baby.

I would never murder someone at all. If someone was trying to harm me or my family then that would be one thing. But, to go and murder someone in cold blood, no.

Steve, I think that you could have said something better. You do not even know me or know about me.

"If by any reason that you would flip out, I would volunteer to execute you in cold blood." Steve, you are not even worth getting kicked off of this forum for. What I would really like to say to you I cannot because out of respect for Shanda and Sue and other people. What a stupid remark to make. I think you are doing this just to see how mad someone can get.

I am opposed to the death penalty and that is it. I am also not grasping at straws. The U.S. is a westernized nation and does not need the death penalty. Europe does not have a death penalty. Cuba does not have the death penalty. Why should the U.S. lower itself to the lever of the offender? Is the death penalty a crime deterrent? No.

You think I am crazy because I forgive these girls. Yes, I forgive them. Does that make someone crazy? No. I forgive them because that is what God wants me to do. You also mentioned in another post that I was bullied in school. Yes, by people like you who just made the comment that you made. Saying, "If you ever flip out." How do you even know I would flip out? I could even lower myself down to your level by saying something similar to you, but I will not do that because I am a better person than that.

I do not believe in the death penalty because it is wrong. It is immoral and wrong. The death penalty is state sanctioned mass murder. Why should the state murder an offender to show everyone that murder is wrong?

I believe in life in prison without parole for very violent offenders. They will never get out to harm anyone else and it costs less money than a death sentence does. It costs more money to house an offender on death row and it costs more money to carry the execution out. It also can cause psychological problems for the person carrying out the execution. It also costs more money for a death penalty trial.

There was a man here in Warrick County, Indiana that shot three people to death with an assault rifle over a drug deal. He also stabbed the three as well. He ambushed them near ALCOA. He received the death penalty and his trial was the most expensive trial they ever had in the state of Indiana. It costs more money than it would to have had a regular trial and it would have costed less to have sentenced him to life in prison. The man's last name was Stephenson.

And PUSH stands for Push them out the door and back into society where other people besides the prison system has to deal with them. It's a lame ass way for the state to save money and that's all it is. The death penalty does work when it's applied properly. That's the problem. They give these jerkoffs the death penalty and then let them sit on death row for 20 years or more. If every state applied the death penalty and then carried it out within a week if not days, I'm willing to bet that it would be one hell of a deterrent . I seem to remember the case of one Charles Starkweather in Nebraska...He murdered several people in cold blood and got the chair for it....back then it didn't take years either, but now thanks to bleeding heart liberals.....the criminals have more rights than the victims. Personally, I think it's pathetic.

I believe that Laurie became a born-again Christian back in 2006. I think it was on WTHR when they were talking about people who were in the PUSH program in the Indiana State Prison system and they featured Laurie Tackett and she said that she became a Christian and that she is sorry every day for what she did to Shanda and that if she had to do it over again she would not have done it. I think that Laurie has some remorse for what she did and I think that is why she is not trying to get out early.

I will say this for Laurie: She hasn't attempted to get out of prison like the other three. However, my gut tells me that she's just playing the system so that they'll release her for "good behavior" in 2022, which quite frankly scares the hell out of me. Anyone who is capable of inflicting such horrors on a 12-year-old stranger needs to stay behind bars for their own protection. And serving her sentence is the absolute LEAST that this demonic bitch can do for Shanda's family after all that they've been put through.

Anyone who did the things these animals did to Shanda is NOT human. There are some crimes that are not forgivable and this is one of them...it is because of people like this as to the reason we have prisons.
If this case would have went to trial Laurie would have received the death penalty and prob would have been executed by now, Melinda would have received life without parole and she would not be trying to get released, Hope would have received life and did a min of 30 years, and not out sassing everyone. Toni prob would have received immunity to testify against the others.

Laurie would not have been executed by now if she had received the death penalty.

I live near Evansville, Indiana and there was a man who murdered an entire family back in 1980. It took twenty-five years before the state finally executed him. His name was Donald Ray Wallace.

I am not for the death penalty because the death penalty is not going to work. The death penalty is not a crime deterrent and the death penalty will not bring Shanda back. I believe that life imprisonment without parole would have been a more suitable punishment.

Yes, Hope, Melinda and Laurie should all have received life imprisonment with no parole. Toni should have gotten ten years out of it. However, this did not happen. I just hope that both Toni and Hope can make a positive impact on the world around them and make some kind of a difference. Sadly, Shanda does not have this opportunity.
